Privacy Policy

David McGowan Author (“I”, “we”, or “DMA”) takes protecting your privacy very seriously. On this page you can see DMA’s privacy policy and practices regarding the collection and use of your personal information.

When you join a mailing list at DMA, your email address and first name are the only information you are asked to provide. In compliance with GDPR, we also ask how we can contact you. After signing up to receive free books, updates and offers, you are asked to confirm that you wish to join the mailing list via email.

We hate spam, and do not email often. We hope you find value in the emails we send, which may from time to time include links to offers from other authors, selected by David McGowan. We will never share your information with those authors or third-party websites. If you, for any reason, wish to opt out or unsubscribe from future emails, you can do so by clicking the prominently displayed ‘unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of any email you receive from us. No hard feelings, ever!

When you visit DMA, the website collects the following information: your IP address, your browser type/version, which pages you visited, whether or not you were re-directed to DMA from another website, which links you click. That’s it…none of the information collected personally identifies you.

DMA is a WordPress.com website, so you may see advertisements served by WordPress.com. DMA does not control this advertisement content.

When you sign up to a mailing list, your first name, email address and IP address/location are recorded in Mailchimp, which is the service used by DMA to create and send emails to you. You can find their privacy policy at https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy.

DMA and WordPress may set cookies on your computer when you visit. These are small files that help the website run smoothly. You can disable these at any time.

Please check the privacy policy of any third-party websites you visit from links on DMA, as they will have their own practices.

DMA is aimed at adults over the age of eighteen years. We do not knowingly collect children’s data. Anyone under eighteen years is advised NOT to provide any personal information to DMA.

We will NEVER share or sell or otherwise knowingly compromise any personal information you give us. You have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, how we use it, to remove you from our mailing list, or to raise concerns about how your personal data is handled. We take this seriously, and will address concerns personally.

Please check this policy periodically, as it is subject to changes without notification. We will never knowingly do anything we think will compromise your data. You can contact David McGowan directly at authordavidmcgowan@hotmail.com
